The defending champions of the Africa Women Cup of Nations (AWCON), Nigeria, were stunned by their South African counterparts as they conceded a late goal in their group B opener.
A number of missed chances by the Nigerians proved to be costly as they lost control of the midfield battle and attackers weren't clicking as expected.
South Africa's substitute Kgatlana scored a late goal to give her country a sweet victory over the star-studded Super Falcons side at the Cape Coast Stadium.
The defeat leaves Nigeria with no other option than to win their next two games to ensure qualification to the next round of the 2018 AWCON.
